Swarna Rice also called Mansuri rice, is one of the healthiest staple Indian rice variety and carries a very low risk of diabetes, says a leading rice research organization, and also has a low glycemic index (GI).
The IRRI termed it an important achievement as the gene would help rice breeders to develop varieties with different GI levels to meet the demand of diabetic and non-diabetic consumers.
The natural aroma and nutrition content of Swarna rice (non-Basmati rice). This is a short grain variety of rice; the length of the grain is between 5.00 mm and 5.75 mm.
Swarna Rice is available in 2 types:
+ Parboiled Swarna rice.
+ Raw/White Swarna rice.
