- Fragrant Rice (Paw San Mui): It is a short grain type. The grain is softer and chalkier in abdomen than the Ngasein. It can be cultivated in two regions; Ayeyarwaddy Division (Delta Region, one of the four major rice production regions) and Sagaing Division (Shwebo region, water irrigated from dams and reservoirs). Myanmar Fragrant (Paw San Mui) Rice is famous for its long lasting aroma,soft and smooth eating quality and easy digestibility. Myanmar Fragrant (Paw San Mui) Rice won the World Best Rice Premium Award at The Rice Trader World Rice Conference in 2011.
- Paw San Hmwe ( PSM) can be cultivated only in two regions, Ayeyarwaddy Delta Region and Sagaing Region for a long time. Paw San is harvested once per year from December to January. Pearl Paw San rice is a bold, round grain and it isn’t very long at 5.0-5.5 millimeters. Nevertheless its length can increase 3 to 4 times the original size after cooking. Strong aroma, good taste and its elongation during cooking are the key characteristics of PSM rice. PSM from Sagaing Region also known as Shwe Bo Paw San is very special, excellent in eating quality, soft texture and with very delightful fragrance. Paw San rice is a premium quality rice of Myanmar.
Paw San is very special and excellent to eat. After warming it length can increase three to four times than the original size. Why it is called Paw San because it got awarded World best Rice at Conference 2011 held in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
